A Look Behind The Scenes At a SHOSU Photoshoot

A Look Behind The Scenes At a SHOSU Photoshoot

Photoshoots are an essential part of the creative process of making inflatables. Simply posting factory photos on our website is an absolute no-go for us. Beautiful inflatables deserve to be captured in the right way. After all, it is not just about the size of the product or a visual representation, but about conveying a feeling. In the factory, under the bright light of fluorescent lamps, the inflatables do not get the credit they deserve. That is why we decided from the start of our brand to really let products shine in professional photos (and later also in videos). But how does such a photoshoot work? And what does it all involve?

Preparation is key

We organize large photoshoots for our new products about two to three times a year. To ensure that we are always on time and well prepared, we think at least six months ahead when designing and producing our inflatables. This way we know exactly which products need to be photographed and we can determine the right locations and themes.

Every photoshoot starts with selecting a suitable location. We do this based on the colours and the look of the inflatables that are central to that collection. For example, if we have a lot of inflatables in soft pastel colours, we look for a location with a serene and natural look, such as a beach or park. The location is therefore crucial for the vibe we want to create in the photos.

The right people in the right place

Our models play a major role in the success of the photoshoots. For the basic collection, we often work with our friends from SHOSU as models. This ensures a natural, spontaneous atmosphere in the photos. For the regular and exclusive collections, we work with our SHOSU models, Angelique and Linsey.

Angelique is also more than just a model. As a clothing designer, she creates the outfits you see in our photos herself. This makes every photoshoot extra special, because the clothing perfectly matches the theme of the inflatables. She puts together the perfect outfits based on the colours and shapes of the inflatables. Sometimes even completely new items are made to complete the look. This unique interplay between product and clothing ensures that the photos not only show a product, but also tell a story.

The perfect picture

Of course, our photographer plays an indispensable role in the entire process. It is not just about capturing the product, but about creating the perfect composition. He pays attention to the placement of the inflatables and the models, thinks about the best angle to let the product shine, and determines whether extra lighting is needed for a natural look. His experience and eye for detail ensure that every shot becomes a visual spectacle.

The atmosphere during the photoshoot is at least as important as the end result. We want the fun and enjoyment of our team and the models to be visible in the images.

The result

The end result of all this preparation and hard work is a photo series in which our inflatables come to life. Each product gets the attention it deserves, and by using the right colours, styling and setting, we create images that stimulate the imagination. A good photo does more than just show a product; it makes you feel why you want it.
